FAMILY ARK — LOCAL-ONLY ENCRYPTED STORAGE

One install. Every family member’s own private space.

If more than one person shares this app — a husband and wife, a parent and an adult child — each of you gets your own profile, your own PIN, and your own private space. If you’re the only one using Family Ark on your device, you’ll never even see this — it’s just your app, ready to go.

Shared where it helps, private where it matters

As you fill in information, you’ll see a Personal or Shared choice on most entries. Personal means only your own profile can see it. Shared means every profile on the device can see it — perfect for a joint bank account, a household bill, or the funeral home contact your whole family should know. When in doubt, Personal is always the safer choice.

Only the profile that created a Shared record can edit it or change it back to Personal — everyone else sees it read-only. That keeps one family member from accidentally taking something away that someone else is relying on.

Switching between profiles

Tap “Switch Profile” from the Dashboard, or use the “Who is using Family Ark?” screen shown at startup whenever there’s more than one profile.

Adding or removing a profile

Add a new profile any time from the same screen. Deleting a profile is permanent — you’ll type the profile’s name to confirm. If that profile owns any Shared records, you’ll be shown exactly which ones and can choose, one by one, to keep them (so nobody else loses access) or delete them along with the profile.
